The Big Easy

We had a pretty easy game monday, but by the first 5 minutes you wouldnt have thought so. YCW, with their second string, makeshift, fillin side, obliterated us 12 - 0. They bombed some threes, and our starting 5 were a bit slow to react.

But we made some changes and smoked their asses, to be up 30-14 at half time. The rest of the game was pretty breezy too, nothing that special happened.

Player of the Week: I can't really give anyone best player, it was pretty much an all-round average performance. Although Paul had a real-hot dip for the time he was on.

Play of the Week: Lachie's absolute ripper ankle-breaker was awesome. He also pickpocketed the opposition whenever they got close (and stupid) enough, so any of them could be considered also.

We have a bye this week, which isnt very exciting is it... Pretty much like Dark Crystal.

Tomoro is Mazza's party, which should be pretty fun for everyone going, I'm hoping everyone will get smashed and have a good time... Happy Birthday Maz! Kelly reckons he will drink everyone and anyone under the table so i beg you all to take the challenge because 1. you will definitely win and 2. I want Kelly to chunder everywhere haha.

Oh yeah, ive decided to remind everyone that we need to get our tattoo by christmas, so somone help me organise it... and stop ignoring the idea Brocky, i know you are cos youre scared of needles but man up. That is all.

Peace

My bad

Sorry for that, Calum took too long to blog then i had to leave... And i didnt realise he was going to admit his bent sexuality on the internet for everyone to see. But basically, what he should have said, is that we beat YCW, even though we were 11 points behind with 15mins to go. Some good shooting and impenetrable Defense was the reason for this... and they are pretty much all old dudes.

Player of the Week: There wasnt really an individual best player, but we did play as a team really well in the 2nd half. We had better pressure defense than the Chicago Bulls ever did, and we were quicker in transition that Jarryd can break hearts.
Honourable mentions: Brock for his tight defense and Kelly for his all-round game.

Play of the week: Probably the best play in the game was Brock's long two to take the lead for the first time since half-time, but the most pivotal was Lachie's possession retaining in the final two minutes, followed by a successful drive to the bucket.
Honourable mentions: Pagey's huge block, and my 3 late 3 pointers

Once again, here are some stats for the game...

Brock: 6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 0 from 2 at free throw, 0 from 1 from 3point, 37.5% shooting and 39.5mins

Alex: 11 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 from 5 from 3point, 44.4% shooting and 30mins

Kelly: 5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 from 2 from free throw, 28.6% shooting and 40mins

Make what you will of those stats. This week we play Monday night against a seriously depleted YWC Kings, as their regular players will be on Leavers. Needless to say, we will be 5 - 1 after that week, second only to the undefeated Colts.

New Favourite Day

Tuesday is now my new favourite day, because last night, things just happened. But I am so biased about how awesome last night was, that i have recruited a guest blogger that you will all love... They call him Calum.

But before that, i will set up the occasion. We had no Sean or Paul who were both away, so only two subs. And it was just our luck that Dylan Pross had just returned from Perth so we had the misfortune of playing a much stronger YCW stingers than normal. Okay Cal, go get 'em.

hi everyone, cal here. just letting you all know that i have finally decided to come out of the closet. yes, i am gay. thats all, back to you al.

Single Mum

This week has been pretty fun i must say. It's interesting to see how much stuff my parents do for our family, and how much housework you have to do to stop the rest of the house looking like my room.

Well the weekend was the most intense of it all, cos i was on constant kid-lookout. But they are still alive now, so i did okay i suppose. Friday night Jackson and Ben organised a sleepover at a friends so i took them over there and discovered i had the rest of the night to myself basically. Or at least that's what i thought.... Baw Baw Bawwww...! (You know, the dramatic noise they have in soaps? Work with me here)

Just as i was leaving, and thanking them for taking the kids for a night, Ben came running up to me, more hysterical than Kelly was the time that we lost the grand final. He was screaming about his thumb and wouldnt let me see it and when he finally did, it looked okay, like it wasnt swollen like a mo fo like mine was when i broke it. But he said he heard a crack when he fell on it, so i went to get it checked out at emergency anyway.

When we got there, there was noone there but us in the waiting room, but it still took 45mins to get seen. Thats the slowest ive ever seen anything move since seeing Jarryd in transition last week. Well the doctor said its wasnt broken, and Ben copped an ice cream out of it, so it was worth it for me.

They didnt even offer me one but...

That night, all the COOL guys (basically us guys except Kelly cos he was being a pussy) went to the vasse then the nard as usual. It was pretty eventful actually, especially for Brock, who copped a few sneaky texts from one of Tom's ex's (we wont name names here, not like you do on your blog Brock) and tund the shit out of Jenny Donovan (sorry pal, had to mention that name).

But apart from what ive written here, ive just been a good Single Mum doing my housework and cooking and cleaning.

Oh and tonight is our basketball game, so come on down.... 8.20. be there or be square.

Peace out, A-Town

Mum and Dad

Well my Mum and Dad have gone to Bali so for the next week and a bit, i am the master of 10 Coral Crescent and the people who reside there. Its not as fun as it sounds but, cos now i have to do all the cooking and cleaning. Lame.

On the upside, its just about the weekend, so i can sort of sleep in a bit. Instead of having to get up to take my brothers to school in the morning.

Today, i dropped off the kids and went to watch Jackson's school assembly. It was his classes turn, and the did a homo dance to Move It by that Borat guy on Madagascar. Jacko pretty much ripped it up, even more than Calum rips up Diablo II. Freak.

Apart from that, nothing else is happening. Apart from Calum applying at my work, and his brother James already having gotten a job in housekeeping... pretty cool. We are slowly gonna takeover that place until we have a majority stake in the company then it will be ours. Or something to that effect.

Favourite Day of the Week

Yes, I have a bad case of Mondayitis. Every week. Its also my favourite day to blog about. Its probably not hard to guess why, but we had basketball last night. And, as promised, we came away with a win. So here is my amateurish review of the night:

Player of the week: Dwayne Wade, aka Lachlan Cudmore. We should start calling him the flash cos he is quicker in transition than Tom is to a chick's 16th birthday party. He had more steals than Jarryd has women on the go, and too much poise and class for any opposition, let alone the inexperienced Saints White.
Honourable Mentions: Brock Monck (see overwhleming stats below), Tony Page (5 points including a 3, a block and a handful of rebounds in his 20 mins)

Play of the Week: Without a doubt, Lachie's rejection to gather to falling out of court to pass to teammate. I didnt see it, but everyone basically got their junk out about it so it must have been okay!
Honourable mentions: Pageys first three-pointer (after a minor travel), and our team's press which forced them 8 seconds in the backcourt.

I also got my brother and Sean and his friend Alex to count a couple of our stats for us, and he ended up taking Mine, Brock's and Kelly's. Here they are:

Brock: 16pts, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 from 4 at free throw, 0 steals, 61.5% shooting and 31.5 mins

Kelly: 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 from 2 at free throw, 2 steals, 50.0% shooting and 30.5 mins

Alex: 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 0 from 1 at three point, 1 steal, 44.4% shooting and 26 mins

We will try and take them over the next few weeks aswell, to get some idea of what a good game is for us individually. Anyway, we knew these guys were an average team of great guys so we started off playing a little stupidly. but after the timeout at 12 - 16, we kept them scoreless until halftime at 12 - 34. We tried the press for a bit but it was a bit rusty, and our turnovers increased, but so did theirs and we ended up with a few fast breaks from it. Final score was 26 - 72, our highest ever score in A-Grade basketball to date.

Well, thats all i have. We play last years finalists (and fossils) YCW Stingers on tuesday night next week. By all means come on down, but remember to turn off your flashes when youre taking photos of us....

Out on the town/Richer

Well last night was friday night, aka Party Night. It was amazing.

We had the boys back together for the first time in a long time, with Morgs and Karen in our entourage. The night started off with a few jugs of Beez, some famous Vasse fries with double aioli, and a wicked pizza. And as promised, there was gambling involved. Me and Kel snuck through the doors a couple of times to punt on a couple of horses, but our first attempt was unsuccessful.

Then on the next trots, i picked a roughie called JD's Beau, paying $11 at the time, for 3 wins and a place. But by the time the race started, everyone must of been dissing him, cos his odds were at $21 instead. For the whole race i had no idea which horse was mine, but with like 200m to go i saw this horse satrt to charge it right down the middle, and i knew it was JD's Beau. It was destiny. But it ended up being a photo finish, so after a couple of nervous minutes, it was decided that JD's Beau won by a nose! And i won a cool $70.80.

So i quit while i was ahead.

After we heard that famous song at the Vasse, 'Closing Time', we headed down the Nard. We got ID checked and went straight for the bar, where we promptly snapped up some wicked multi-coloured alcholic slushies. Bliss. Even Kel stopped hugging for a bit to have some. That's big, that is.

Then it started to wind down and Karen took us home, and now here i am the next day, blogging about it. We need more nights like that one i reckon. Except without the headache the next morning.

Anyways, Peace.

Together Again

Tonight, the lambda boys should be back in action again... At the Vasse. Yes, this is the first time in over 4 months that the once-feared drinking unit will be doing what they do best - drinking alcohol. Except for Tom, who is best at taking his shirt off. All the time.

I say should because Kelly hasnt RSVP'ed yet. So Kelly if you're reading this, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, and send me a msg. Oh and if you're reading this, which you would be if you just read that, then get out your mobile right now. Seriously. Get it out and send Kelly a msg telling him to go out tonight. And to text me back. Cos we love you Clifford and cant wait to see you throw up yet again...

Anyway, nothing really interesting has happened lately, except that i met someone pretty cool, and ive been winning a couple of bets on the NBA along with my partner in crime (and also blogging), Brocky.

Notice how i said 'winning'. Brock would just say 'placing'.

Also, got my new BBL kicks the other day... Can't wait to play ball in them. Im hoping that they are like the shoes on 'Like Mike'. Thatd be awesome. But we dont need it anyway this week. We are gonna kill Saints White. Metaphorically speaking.

Peace
